Anthem is one of my favorites although I prefer their older albums. Seven Hills was the last great album. Shimizu to me is from the Michael Schenker school of guitar playing.

Akio is way better than Herman. I’ve seen them live, and Akio can actually play his stuff. I did not come away with the same impression from Herman.

Yngwie Malmsteen is a great guitarist. But why are we talking about him? Anthem’s guitarist sounds nothing like him, and we should be talking about how kickass Anthem is instead of dissing Yngwie on how “soulless” he is. Also, Anthem’s bass player is freaking amazing

@M2SWEDEN l admit that Malmsteen is good at what he does and l happen to like the track Far beyond the sun but his playing is so so sooo boring!! his music is just a ego-trip of scale wanking, the fact that he shows hardly any emotion and feeling in his playing leads me to believe that his music is souless but hey thats my opinion.
