no matter how tired i am, i sleep during the day rather than at night. I dont get a good "nights" sleep if i try to sleep at night. i get more than enough sleep during the day, but i would just rather sleep in the daytime rather than at night...is that considered insomnia? and even if i do go to bed at night and try to get up "early" and get my nights and days back on track, i cant. I am a homemaker, so i dont have to be anywhere during the day. i have always prefered sleeping during the day and staying up all night. is there something wrong with me?

Haha I have exactly the same problem, I will be up all night and then I will sleep all day, but if I have to do something during the say and I don’t get to sleep I will be up all the next night, I just can’t seem to sleep during the night. crazy huh?
Its not insomnia as you are sleeping, you just have a topsy turvey body clock. If that suits you then why worry about it? If it does worry you then you may need to address why you prefer to sleep during the day ( any fears etc) before you can start turning things around.
I don’t think that it would be considered Insomnia. I think that it is what you said. You admit that you have your days and nights mixed up.
My daughter was like that when she was a baby so the doc said to just give her water at night and no formula that she would straighten out and she did within a few days.
I still don’t understand why you cannot sleep at all at night but I do have a suggestion. You may want to go to a sleep clinic. They can help you there and maybe you will be able to get a good nights rest at night again. I think that it would help you out.
No, you do not have insomnia. However, it sounds like your circadian rhythm is off; you have to work to reset your body’s clock of sleep. Keeping yourself active and not bored during the day should help keep you from falling asleep. By stimulating yourself during the day, the hope is that you’ll tire your body out and fall asleep at night. Other than that, it will take a a lot of work if you want to get yourself to sleep at night.
