Great insights and very well written. Also, for those of you in search of an effective sleep aid, I found and bought a pretty cool system on Ebay called the `Sleep Wizard’…it’s a white noise program but way batter and more varied than others I have tried before, cost me $10 and I would have spent several times that price. Old information, relaxation techniques have been around for thirty years and a thousand if a person practices yoga, additionally, the diary and other recommended activities focuses a person’s mind on their inability to sleep thereby reenforcing this condition. If this is the best treatment available for people with insomnia, one of the most pervasive conditions in the country then there is not a lot of hope for people with chronic insomnia. The positive and negative sleep thoughts this book spends so much time on and states can change chronic insomnia by mentally repeating positive statements before going to sleep or when waking up at 2 AM are utter crap.

This book was prescribed by a doctor at the Vanderbilt Sleep Clinic; I’m canceling my next appointment.
